Our Story

In 1965, a dedicated team of scientists set out to explore the commercial applications of marine algae along the Brazilian coastline. A chance discovery triggered a new cycle of research focused on cosmetic applications: factory workers handling raw seaweed exhibited exceptionally smooth, soft hands—far different from what was expected of manual laborers.

The team selected specific algae species yielding extracts with remarkable cosmetic activity and engineered stable, high-quality derivative technologies. This breakthrough, combined with the emerging trend of natural cosmetic ingredients, inspired the founding of ASSESSA.
