The Plant: Mango (Rich in Vitamin A)
The mango tree, native to India, is a tropical tree belonging to the Anacardiaceae family. In Brazil, around five hundred varieties of mango exist, varying widely in size, shape, and skin color ranging from dark green to yellow or red.
Mango pulp is succulent, distinctly flavored, and ranges in color from light yellow to dark orange. Mangoes are exceptionally rich in vitamin A (especially when fully ripe) and contain valuable B-complex vitamins, vitamin C, and mineral salts, mainly iron. They offer important diuretic, soothing, and nutritive benefits.
