Innovation for a Greener World: Responsible Chemistry, Climate Action & Circular Value
At ASSESSA, sustainability is integrated directly into our core business strategy. We pioneer plant-based bioactive ingredients with environmental, social, and economic responsibility. Guided by strict policies in Quality, Environment, Social Responsibility, and Sustainable Procurement, we are committed to ethical practices, transparency, and the responsible management of natural resources across our entire value chain.
Renewable Solar & Certified Clean Energy
Target for Direct Scopes 1 & 2 Carbon Neutrality
Target Non-Hazardous Waste Valorization by 2030
Since 2016, ASSESSA annually counts its GHG emissions inventory according to the GHG Protocol Brazil methodology. Official inventoried figures for 2024:
• Scope 1 (Direct Emissions): 35.9 t CO₂ eq (derived primarily from LPG combustion, selected for its high calorific efficiency).
• Scope 2 (Location-based Energy): 6.2 t CO₂ eq.
• Scope 3 (Value Chain): Currently under active development for complete life-cycle quantification.
• 100% Clean Energy: Powered by solar energy and clean sources purchased via the Free Energy Market, certified via International Renewable Energy Certificates (I-REC).
• Water Recirculation: Reject water from reverse osmosis purification is reused internally for plant sanitation, with surplus water supplied to neighboring facilities to eliminate waste.
• Industrial Wastewater: Plant effluents are directed to an integrated industrial treatment station within our industrial park, ensuring full municipal compliance prior to discharge.
At ASSESSA, sustainability and social responsibility are validated by independent international audits, giving our clients full transparency and regulatory assurance.
Assesses corporate performance across Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.
International tracking standard certifying that 100% of consumed electricity originates from verified renewable solar energy.
Global benchmark certifying that ingredient origins, processing, and green chemistry meet strict natural and organic standards.
Independent international body certifying natural and ecological botanical raw materials according to European guidelines.
Pioneering water-based extraction, biotransformation, and natural biocatalysts to create highly potent ingredients without harsh chemical solvents.
Transforming food industry co-products (such as golden flax, chia seeds, upcycled ginger, and green coconut pulp) into high-value cosmetic bioactives.
Engineered plant-based alternatives that replace widely used synthetic polymers and silicones with 100% biodegradable, clean performance.
Developing powdered bioactives that reduce water transport mass, optimizing logistics efficiency and lowering supply chain carbon footprint.
Vegetal and mineral production residues are sent to bioenergy landfills where generated methane is captured and converted into clean biogas.
Seaweeds are responsibly collected in Southeastern and Northeastern Brazil, supporting female-led harvester groups with minimum volumes and fair pricing.
